Troop 157 provides young men and women the opportunity to explore the outdoors, develop lifelong leadership skills, serve their community, and build lasting friendships.
Unlike Cub Scouting, where adult leaders plan and direct activities, Scouts BSA is a youth-led program. Under the guidance of trained adult leaders, our Scouts elect their own student leaders, plan their own meetings, and organize their own outdoor adventures.
Youth-Led Leadership: Scouts learn responsibility by serving in leadership roles, organizing patrols, and guiding their peers.
Outdoor Adventure: Monthly weekend campouts, annual summer camps, high-adventure treks, hiking, and outdoor skill-building.
Merit Badges & Career Exploration: Earn badges covering over 135 subjects—from wilderness survival and first aid to robotics, environmental science, and personal management.
The Rank of Eagle Scout: A proven path of personal growth, community service projects, and achievement that prepares youth for college, careers, and life.
Service to Others: Active involvement in local service projects that benefit our charter organization, schools, and community.
Troop 157 grounds every activity in the core values of Scouting:
"On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight."
A Scout is Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent.
Youth who have completed the 5th grade (or are 11 years old, or have earned the Arrow of Light rank in Cub Scouts) up until their 18th birthday are eligible to join. No prior Scouting experience is required!
